Let’s talk for a minute about fashion. Now I have been told that I am somewhat lacking in this area, that I do not always necessarily cut a “bella figura.” Granted jeans and hoodies don’t make much of a fashion statement, but the times I’ve flirted with style have typically been more disastrous then sticking with the tried and true frump that seems to be my natural state. But I digress…
The fashion I want to speak of here is male fashion. I have railed before against such atrocities as camo on anyone over the age of 12 who is not in the military, shirts with pithy sayings (think, “I do all my own stunts”), and tank tops on any male human. Ever. But during the hot humid summer months here in The Cornfield I have witnessed and alarming trend that must be addressed. I’m talking here about men’s shorts. Men should not wear booty shorts. This is important so let me say it again; men should not wear booty shorts. It doesn’t matter how toned he may be, how tan or sleek his legs are - a man must avoid booty shorts. What I find interesting about this trend is that it mostly seems to involve men of a “certain age” I’m talking over 50. Not a pleasant sight. Shorts should never be any higher than the top of the knees. That is even pushing it if you ask me, personally I like to see the majority of the knee covered.
Man it feels good to blog again!
